TRACK SAFETY!

October 2023

Please follow the guidance to help keep riders safe on track.

These apply to all riders, members, guardians, carers and spectators.

DO!

  • Wear appropriate safety wear.
  • You must be wearing a full-face helmet and gloves. Arms and legs must also be fully covered.
  • Sign in at the container and make sure your medical information and emergency contact details are up to date.
  • Ride the correct way around the track. Following the same path as the riders.
  • Be aware of faster riders coming from behind. Do not panic! Stay on your line and they will go around you safely.
  • Alert slower riders in a loud, but friendly way that you are approaching and coming past.
  • Support new riders and members and escort them around the track so they understand how to ride safely.
  • Follow the rules and guidelines set by the club and British Cycling officials.
  • Alert the club first-aiders of any injuries or accidents.
  • HAVE FUN!

DON'T

  • Ride under the influence of drink or drugs.
  • Drop-in from the top of the berms while other riders are already on a lap.
  • Stop mid-lap without checking behind you and alerting other riders first.
  • Cut across the track, jumps or berms.
  • Ride the wrong way around the track.
  • Swear, shout at or degrade/humiliate other riders.
  • Leave children under 16 unattended.
  • Use any scooters, E-Bikes or RC vehicles on the track.
  • Ignore any flags or bikes placed upside down on the track. This indicates that a rider is down and injured or that there is an obstacle on track.

REMEMBER! The club is run by volunteers! We all have an equal duty to support the club and its values to ensure its future success!
